Elderly and Disabled Services

Our Elderly and Disabled Services is a complete program which allows elderly or disabled residents to live in their own apartments longer, rather than having to transfer to an assisted living or nursing home. Elderly residents are defined as those being 62 years of age or older and disabled is defined as individuals receiving Social Security disability income. Each month a calendar is distributed to every elderly or disabled resident outlining the programs for that month. If you fit into this category and do not receive a calendar, please be sure to call so we can send you one. Also, look for the Elderly and Disabled Calendar for your neighborhood on the website. Every two weeks SHA transports residents for shopping at various stores. Health education and wellness programs are offered, as well as safety and resident outreach activities. In addition, individual assistance is available when needed with Medicare issues, transportation scheduling and daily living activities. For more information on this comprehensive program call Jayne Floyd at 598-6127 or Tamidra Wilkins at 598-6071.
