What is YouthBuild?

YouthBuild is construction training program that focuses on GED/High School Diploma preparation, community service/ leadership for adults ages 18-24, while providing opportunities to prepare the young adult for the working profession.

How do I apply for YouthBuild? 

You are able to pick up an application at the following addresses:

Will I get paid for being a trainee?
Yes - you may be eligible to receive a bi-weekly stipend.

How long is the YouthBuild program?
The YouthBuild program is up to 36 weeks 

If I am on probation, can I still participate?
Probation does not exclude you from applying. A member of our team can review your probation terms to determine your eligibility.

If I am in college, can I participate?
No. The YouthBuild Program is tailored to assist students who may have encountered barriers to completing or obtaining their high school diploma. 

If I am going to be 18 years old can I participate?
You must be 18 at the time of program enrollment.

If I am a high school dropout but younger than 18 can I participate?
No. Eligible program participants must be between the ages of 18-24.

Where will the training be located?
The construction work site trainings are held at the YouthBuild building.

How many hours a week is the training?
The entire training is up to 40 hours per week.

How many hours of community service/leadership training?
3-4 hours per week.

How long is lunch?
30 minutes.

Is lunch provided by training program?
Lunch is not provided. You may bring your own lunch or purchase.

If I have a disability will I be able to participate?
The YouthBuild Program is an equal opportunity program and includes persons with disabilities. Persons with disabilities would need to submit a request for reasonable accommodations as with any employment and training opportunity.

If I am pregnant, can I participate?
All applicants must be able to perform the physical duties of all phases of the program. Reasonable accommodations will be considered as it relates to those individuals requiring them.

If I am working, can I participate?
Yes. An applicant that is currently employed must be able to comply with program attendance requirements.
