Homeownership Institute

At SHA we take homeownership seriously. In fact, we take it so seriously that we are willing to be with you every step of the way on your trek toward the American dream of owning a home. We have a Homeownership Institute which consists of four 2 hour sessions that teaches people about homeownership from the credit score requirements to loan application and beyond. This program is open to residents of Public Housing only. Upon completion of the program, residents receive a certificate and then our homeownership counselor works with individuals one on one until they are able to qualify for and purchase a home. After purchasing a home, SHA follows up with them for a year to see if they need any assistance in navigating homeownership. If you need additional information about the Homeownership Institute please call Terril Bates at 598-6010.
